Course Descriptions
PA- CAT is a phased array technique for assessing contact point corrosion at pipe supports on carbon steel piping. PA-CAT was developed by Paul Holloway of Holloway NDT and Engineering. University of Ultrasonics has partnered with Paul to deliver PA-CAT training to clients within the United States.
Our course provides the technician with the knowledge and skills required to perform the PA-CAT examination in the field. During the course, basic methodology, theories and principles will be covered, as well as limitations and sources of error. The attendees will also have the opportunity to setup scanner equipment, collect scan data, and upload to the PA-CAT cloud- based analysis algorithm.
Previous Phased Array training and certification are pre-requisites for this course. We are taking existing PAUT principles and expanding on them in order to accomplish a very specific task. Thorough understanding of PAUT theory, equipment, focal law setup, gate logic, scanning practices, and analysis of encoded data should already be in place before attending this course. We will ask for previous training/ certification records upon course registration.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us at any time.
